Zimbra Now Yahoos!

We wanted to let the Zimbra Community be among the first to hear some exciting news - we have been acquired by Yahoo!
Joining forces with Yahoo! will enable us accelerate development of ZCS and also combine the Yahoo! and Zimbra Community base. Community will be integral to the Zimbra experience and we will continue to make source code available, take contributions, and allow modifications to the product.
What does this mean to the Zimbra Community? Here’s what you need to know:
- Zimbra community will function as normal; our website and community tools are unaffected
- Like Zimbra, Yahoo! believes our Community is a critical component to our success and together we will grow and support it
- ZCS product editions are unchanged, for example: There will still be an on-premise offering; We will continue to provide access to source code; You can still deploy ZCS at no charge
Over the coming months Zimbra will also leverage Yahoo!’s many strengths to make ZCS and the Community even more robust; such as more Zimlets / mash-ups and even more developer tools. We will also use Yahoo!’s unprecedented reach to spread the word far-and-wide about Zimbra.
