Default local domain and internet address

Hello,

thank you for opensourcing your work.

We would like to have the following setup,

1. a local domain with user1@domain.lan

2. we want user1@domain.lan to become userwhatever@domain.com when he sends mail outside of domain.lan

part 1 is ok. what we don't know is how to get part 2 working.

Any ideas?

We do not have the ability to set FROM today. This has been filed as a feature request.

Default Setting from

Kevin is correct that you can't set it in the UI, per message - but if you want to set it per ACCOUNT, you can set the zimbraMailCanonicalAddress attribute to the desired value.

If I remember correctly there is some tinkering you can do with postfix config that will use a regex expression to change addresses. You may want to look at that. Someone correct me if I'm wrong though!

Default zimbraMailCanonicalAddress

Hi,

I am in the same situation as the original poster. How does one go about setting the zimbraMailCanonicalAddress attribute on a per-account level?

Thanks,
Michael

On OSS 5.0.9, if a canonical address is set via the admin interface, then any 'reply-to' settings made by the user in his Preferences seem to be ignored.

E.g. user test@domain.com has a canonical address set by admin as dummy@otherdomain.com;

If user test sends an email, the reply-to will be dummy@otherdomain.com. So far so good.

Now user test goes to Preferences|Accounts and changes the 'Reply-to4 value to etwas@gmail.com.

If user test now sends another email, the reply-to value is still set as dummy@otherdomain.com.

Is this an intended behaviour or a bug ?
