Default Enabling DSPAM

As I understand it, DSPAM has been disabled in recent versions of Zimbra due to performance issues. I have a small installation of only about 75 users. So, that leads me to two questions.
  1. Will the performance hit of using DSPAM even be noticeable on such a small installation?
  2. Since DSPAM is disabled by default, how can I re-enable it?

Thanks

I wouldn't have though the performance would be impacted for that number of users, the problem was with large installations.

You can change it in amavisd.conf.in (look for #$dspam and uncomment the line) - do that, restart amavisd and keep an eye on performance just in case you have problems.

Thanks, I'll give it try and see how it goes. Will the change survive an upgrade, or will I have to uncomment that line again?

You'll have to apply it again after an upgrade.

Do the entries in the crontab for dspam cleanup need to be uncommented?

If you zimbra version is <= 4.5.5, you will also need to uncomment the dspam lines in /opt/zimbra/bin/zmtrainsa. The new zmtrainsa script in 4.5.6 have a bug and doesn't learn from dspam.

Bug 18153 - zmtrainsa not learning from dspam when it's enabled

a comment on zmtrainsa script lines 45 and 54 was enough for me for the cron jobs to work. Unafortunely, didn't work for manual training
