It looks like there is a problem with the descriptor file.
Can you rerun the installer with the -s option?

i made some changes in /opt/zimbra/posftifx/conf/main.cf and it seems to work now . thanks jholder , i'll try what you said if this happens again .. hope not

to be honest i don't know for sure anymore...i'm not even sure if those changes fixed the problem or some amavis commands ... still i think that the antivirus was causing the problems.. you could try jholder suggestion first ..also ,read this

i think i tried this command too : amavisd debug-sa

i'm sorry that i can give you more precise info but since then i solved lots of others problems (on some other servers too ) and i simply don't recall what exactly fixed my problem..

please post if you find the precise solution .

good that would've been my first choice too , because,as i said, i suspected it was an antivirus issue .
