Default Shared Calendars Permissions Problem

I have an employee (person A) who is a manager of someone else's calendar (person B). When person A tries to edit an event person B created, person A can't. Did I miss something in the settings?

Thanks for your time
Marcel

define 'can't'
Is it "permission denied" ?
Could you paste the entire error?

Well there is no error, it just does not allow you to select the event, its grayed out from what I understand.
