Smile Newbie Question

I'm on/off again tinkering with our Zimbra test install. Quick question, can Outlook and/or Apple's Mail client make use of Zimbra's GAL when addressing messages and such?

Thx - Steve

You didn't mention your version (open source vs NE) but with the the outlook connector it's very simple:
Quote:
Zimbra COS features and Global Settings that are enforced include the following:
• Account quotas. Users can use Outlook Archiving to save files to their computer to prevent going over their quota limit. Archiving removes the messages from the Zimbra server.
• Password rules including password length, age, history
• Address book size limit
GAL access
• Session token lifetime
• Server Pool set up
• Email message lifetime
• Trash and spam message lifetime
• Reject messages with specified attachment extension. You cannot disable attachment viewing.
• Anti-spam and anti-virus rules

Question

I have Outlook 2002. Is there a connector for Outlook 2002? If not is there another way to import mailboxes (PST and/or mbox files)? (I have the NE version btw.)

Thanks.

There is a PST Import Wizard though I have no clue if it works on older outlook pst files (I know it works on 2003 of course) check your admin console-downloads tab

Thanks for the info!

I kept searching the Zimbra site but couldn't find the outlook connector. Does anyone know where I can download it? I'll keep looking.

Thanks.

Are you a NE customer?
Outlook connector or PST import wizard? (just letting you know their is a difference)

check your /opt/zimbra/tomcat/webapps/zimbra/downloads folder
or
admin console> downloads area
