    Default Thanks

I followed the process and that seems to have cured it.

Interesting that I didn't have this problem before upgrading to 5.0.2.

Had the same problems, and could cure it for most cases with this wiki entry.

BUT I have still problems with .dwg files inside .zip archives. They seem to be application/octet-stream encoded: (ParsedMessage - Parse error on MIME part 4 (application/octet-stream)

I added the zip extension to the ldap entry for application/octet-stream, like in the wiki example, but convertd still crashes...

    any thoughts... ?

    When I run
    Code:
    ldapsearch -x -h `zmhostname` -D uid=zimbra,cn=admins,cn=zimbra -W "objectclass=zimbraMimeEntry"
I get the following output. This has taken care of my problems. Are you sure you have all of the potential mime types covered? I have application/octet-stream, application/x-zip-compressed, and application/zip for .zip files and application/acad and application/octet-stream for .dwg files.

thanks, making "zimbraMimeHandlerClass: UnknownTypeHandler" for every possible zip MIME type, resolved the convertd crash problem.

But of course that removed the possibility to view contents of a zip file in ZWC , or search for filenames inside of .zip attachments ... I didn't want that.

To me it seems, this is a bug: If I exclude e.g. .dwg files from being indexed via "zimbraMimeEntry", they are not indexed if they are directly attached. BUT the exception is NOT applied to the same file type inside an archive ?

    regards

Glad that fixed it (sort of). I agree, this is a bug. It seems to me like the biggest (and perhaps simplest) issue is that turning off indexing doesn't solve this convertd problem - you still have to manually disable it for all of the mime types. Indexing wasn't high on my list of important features anyway so I haven't found the time to file a bug report yet.

I hadn't run into the problem of a dwg inside a zip. Thanks for pointing this out as I'm sure it would have surfaced soon.

I also agree this is a bug in 5.0.2 that should be corrected in the next release.

We ran into this issue after upgrading to 5.0.2 x64 from 4.5.10 x32. Disabling indexing for the problem file types fixed the issue.

how did you disable indexing? The way described above?
And did it also fix it for those problem file types in (maybe nested) zip or other archives?

    thanks,
    mjp

We disabled indexing on zip files with the method described in this thread. We have not had issues with the files inside zip files or any other type of archive. The zip files that were causing the "Temporary message delivery failure" error contained text files, .pcb files, and .dsn (OrCAD) files.
