Default Adding Arabic Dictionary to aspell

Hi,

I have read about adding new dictionaries to the aspell on the Zimbra Wikis, but they didn't mention any thing about Right-to-Left languages like Arabic and Hebrew.

So I tried to add the Arabic dictionary (I downloaded it from gnu.org) and I followed the steps mentioned in the Wiki (http://wiki.zimbra.com/index.php?tit...ries_to_aspell)

and then restarted the servers again but nothing changed, the English spell checker is still working and the Arabic didn't ....

Does Zimbra support the these languages to be spell checked or not??
if so,
Is there a special configuration that I must do for the Arabic spell checker to work??

Regards
Hany

Hi Hany,
Can you post the files you changed when installing the dictionaries?
Also, that wiki entry is only for western characters.

Thanks
john

Here are the files in the file i downloaded from ftp://ftp.gnu.org/gnu/aspell/dict:

ar.dat
ar.cwl
ar.multi
ar_affix.dat
ar_phonet.ISO.dat
arabic.alias
configure
COPYING
Copyright
info
l-ar.cmap
l-ar.cset
Makefile.pre
README

and I just followed the steps of installation I found in the wiki and didn't make any thing else (didn't replace any files ...).

#./configure
#make
#make install

and then replaced the value of $locale to "ar" in the file /opt/zimbra/httpd/htdocs/aspell.php to reference the new Arabic dictionary.

So if you say that the wiki was just for western languages, is there a way for languages like Arabic or what??

If there is a way to do so plz tell me.

Regards
Hany

Sorry I forgot to tell you that before installing the dictionary I set Zimbra's aspell in the path with:

PATH=/opt/zimbra/aspell-0.60.3/bin:$PATH

this was also mentioned in the wiki.
