Default Open Directory & Zimbra

I see from the documentation, that there's a methodology for using an Active Directory Installation to derive your userbase in a Zimbra installation. Is there also a methodology for using an Open Directory Installation to derive your userbase?

We'd be using Zimbra in more of a Outlook/OS X Mail situation than a web-based-mail-system, but it would be nice to put Zimbra up as part of the Single Sign On environment.

Is this possible?

You can use any external LDAP as an authentication source or GAL. For SSO have a look in the forums & wiki for preauth.

Many thanks Phoenix. Are there tricks to working with Open Directory in specific that folks are aware of?

I don't know Open Directory but I don't think there's anything special that needs doing. I use Fedora Directory Server for authentication and GAL and it's just an anonymous bind. Running through the Wizard in Zimbra should do what you need. Have a look in the wiki for some details.
