Mail from local to public mail server

Hello , and please be "gentle", i'm new to this.

This is what i want to do:

- i have external mail server (hosted by 'some other' ISP)
- i want to setup Zimbra as a local mail server with identical mailboxes as my public mail server
- so when user@localdomain sends mail locally, that mail should go to external mail server and then to it's destination.
- it should be the same with the receiving

Since my 'hosing provider' has some silly quotes, i want to have my local mail server with 'unlimited' mailbox quotes.

I hope you understand my need, and tnx in advance.

PS. Local OS = Ubuntu 6.10

Have you considered using Zimbra's Aggrigate mail feature?

This allows zimbra to connect to external mailboxes, and pull the mail into a specific user's account.

To send mail out, you can use relaying. You can search for that in the wiki.
