    Exclamation Web mail MTA Hostname

    Hi,
I have noticed that at the zimbra admin UI. There is two settings to set hostname one at the servers menu at MTA tab the Web mail MTA Hostname is set to my real server hostname. While at global settings at MTA tab the Web mail MTA Hostname is set to local host. My server sends and recieves mail from internet but i have problem that sometimed it's listed in CBL and mail servers block my emails such as aol and hotmail and wsu.edu. So, Can that be the problem. Should i change the hostname in global settings to my real server hostname also?

    Why is this urgent?

AOL block email from ISPs they consider unsafe, Hotmail are notorious for dropping or not delivering mail. Your MTA hostname is not the problem. Have you checked that you are actually on any block lists?

Get delisted and wait 24 hours for hotmail/AOL/etc to refresh the lists that they subscribe to.

Well, you could require SMTP Authentication for all users. That's a start.

Why do you think you're sending spam through Zimbra? Have you got users that are spammers? Merely being listed on an RBL list doesn't mean that you have actually sent spam. What are the entries in the RBL lists? Have you actually got yourself de-listed yet?

You didn't really answer any of the questions except the on on delisting. What about the other answers? They may provide you with some clue as to what's going on.

[/EDIT]According to the lists I'm looking at you also seem to be on a dynamic IP address, is that correct? While it's not necessarily a problem you may get listed for that.

You could also take the easy route and relay your email through your ISPs mail servers and save yourself some hassle.

    Default logs are checked

    Hi,
I'm behind a Nat. My zimbra email server is also acting as transparent proxy. I checked squid configuration and it's ok. and checked the iptables firewall and nothing seems wrong. I have checked zimbra logs and root logs. And nothing in the logs indicates the problem.
    thanks.
