    Default emails not delivered

    Hi,
I had a problem with sending emails. I've found that my mail server ip address was listed at cbl and consequently spamhaus. Now the ip is delisted and the problem was fixed. However, I still can't send emails to hotmail.com. before delisting at least a message was written in the log that hotmail can't accept incoming mail from my mail server but after delisting, The mesage is not delivered but no error is logged to indicate the problem.
    Any ideas what's wrong?
    Thanks

The question is probably best directed to Hotmail support, they have a habit (like AOL) of not delivering email. I assume there's nothing in your deferred queue? If there's nothing in the log apart from your connection to hotmail and they've accepted the mail then I don't see what we can do about it.

One thing you could try is to connect to the hotmail server via telnet and try sending a test message vie that session and see what happens (google for details on how to do that).
    Regards

I'm pretty sure hotmail would almost certainly cache Spamhaus data rather than doing live lookups due to the sheer number of connections they would have to make so why not give it a day or two for them to refresh and see if that cures the problem.

This isn't really a Zimbra problem, if the mail leaves your server and there's nothing in the deferred queue and it was accepted by hotmail then it's there you should ask for support. A quick google would have found all these links.

Yes it does. It has no way of knowing that the connection you are making is coming from a telnet client, a mail server or otherwise.

You have to telnet in on port 25 to make a connection to the SMTP server. To do this in windows open a command prompt (Start menu > Run and then type in "cmd").

In the command prompt type the following...

    telnet mx1.hotmail.com 25

See what you get. You can get more information about SMTP commands by going to this website...

You need to try sending an email to your hotmail account when you are connected via telnet. Details of how to do that are located at this page (posted by keffa earlier): http://www.yuki-onna.co.uk/email/smtp.html

I keep saying this, it's a question you'll have to address to Hotmail. It's not something we can answer as we don't have access to their server or logs. Look at the link I posted earlier for contact details at Hotmail.
