    Default RHEL 5 support

    Hi guys,

ZCS been great! Been using for almost a year already. Now that redhat have released RHEL5, just wondering when zimbra will start to support it and also will RHEL4 will no longer be supported in coming years.

Will be glad if I can know what zimbra planning is..

    Thanks!!
    :P

So far, we have no official plans.
We are testing RHEL 5, and once we get it tested, we'll make either a BETA or a GA release available.

Is any RHEL 5 release likely to work on CentOS 5 in the same way that RHEL 4 release will (With tweaks) work on CentOS 4?

As CentOS5 is binary compatible with RHEL then the answer is yes. Check bugzilla for RHEL5, there's an entry you can track progress of RHEL5 support.

I do, in fact, have Zimbra 4.5.4 installed on CentOS5.

Did you have to make any tweaks to CentOS5 that you didn't have to make on CentOS4 to get things running?

The only ones for CentOS5 are the usual compat-libs + openssl and the extra one is to comment out 'defaults requiretty' in the /etc/sudoers file, apart from that it installed OK and is running fine.

I too was able to install on CentOS 5 but I needed to do the following in addition to the instructions above:

    ln -s /lib64/libssl.so.6 /lib64/libssl.so.4
