Default import Contacts

I found exportContacts.pl file in /trunk/ZimbraServer/src/perl/soap at sourceForge.net.
Is there something like importContacts.pl ?

Well, on a user's Options --> Address Book page there is a place to input contacts from a .csv file. Are you looking for the actual program name? Obviously there is some code behind it, but I'm not sure if it's a perl script or something else.

soxfan,

Do you know what format the address import would accept? I mean .csv file format. For example, the first column - first name, the second one - last name, and so on.

There's an entry in the wiki for the format (and on the forums, IIRC).

I am new to Zimbra. I even don't know what IIRC means. Basically I could not find the post you mentioned. Could you kindly post that link for me? Thanks a lot!

Here's the link to the wiki page:
http://http://wiki.zimbra.com/index....rt_of_Contacts

From what I've found if you're coming from Outlook basically a standard export to .csv will work fine. If you are coming from something else you don't need every column that is shown in the Wiki, but you do need a column heading line with the exact wording as shown in that page.

By the way, IIRC has nothing to do with Zimbra; it is shorthand for "If I remember/recall correctly"

Hope this helps.

Go to the wiki and type the word 'contacts' in the search field, you'll see what you need in the results. IIRC = If I Remember Correctly.

Thanks, soxfan and Bill!

Actually in the past few weeks, I have been evaulating Citadel. An Internet search pointed me to Zimbra. Obviously there is no comparison between Zimbra and Citadel. However, I do appreciate all hardworking people's contributions to open sources!

I want an administrator to import a contact.csv for users, I want users not to import themselves.
So I want something like a Contact Importing Tool.
There is an exportContacts.pl, so I think there is something like an importContacts.pl,too.
If there is not something like an importContacts.pl, I wonder if I can make an importContacts.pl easily.
