Moving mailboxes

I am currently running 4.5.4 OSS.

I would like to add an Ubuntu mailbox server and move a couple of my larger email accounts over to it. I can only find instructions for moving a mailbox from one mailbox server for the Network Edition only.

Are there instructions anywhere on how to successfully move the mailbox over?

What I assume would need to be done is to change the mailbox server in the Administrative Console, and use imapsync to copy things over - but then won't the original/old server fail at letting it login since that mailbox doesn't exist on that server anymore?

Or is it just as ensuring the account is locked to no new mail goes to it, copy the store/index data over, and dump the MySQL database and re-load it on the new server?

If not then I may look at doing a raw DB move.

What I did is I created a second account (user_new@domain.com) and set the mailbox server to the new server, ran imapsync, used raw ldap commands to grab the old password and update it (since I did not know my users passwords), renamed the old account to user_old@domain.com, renamed user_new@domain.com back to user@domain.com, and were good to go. This however does leave you with anything else that needs to be copied such as mail filter rules, preferences, calendars, address books, etc.. but it's "quick and dirty"
