Question Tracking email via content

Does anyone know how to identify inbound email through Zimbra via a given context within the message or header, and then re-route based on that context?

I could simply forward the email based on the context, if I could understand how to do this.

Thanks for the feedback

Welcom to the forums.

Well, there are filters in Zimbra. You can make them as simple or complex as you like - filter on header, body, size date, to, cc, from, attachment - with contains, doesn't contain, matches, doesn't match, matches pattern, doesn't match pattern. I suppose you could get all the email into one mailbox and then distribute them based on filters.

There is no 'overall' filter and honestly I think it would be more trouble than it's worth. Why not let the mail get delivered into proper mailboxes. What is it you're trying to achieve.

Well, Our owner has asked us to track emails coming from a given individual who is actively recruiting out of our firm. He would like to know when someone receives an email with this persons name in it, so that we can actively interdict on the companies behalf.

We are using Outlook for the email and Zimbra as the server, so I was looking to see if we could administratively ask Zimbra to screen these messages and ALSO forward them to a "special" inbox, so that we can see whats occuring without blocking, as they would just find another way to email or contact without our knowledge.

I would appreciate any feedback.

I guess as you want to see all the incoming mail that the always bcc option would do what you need, have a look at this thread - please not that as you're modifying the psotfix config file it will be overwritten on each upgrade. That will give you _all_ the mail in one mailbox, you can filter it in there and (if you don't want most of it) discard what's not needed.
