    Default Mod Proxy

    Hi,
I am trying to setup mod_proxy on my SLES 10 box, so I have my normal website and the Zimbra website on the same box. I found the well written Wiki page for it and used it to the letter, but I am having an issue.

    I can't complete this step:

    ln -s /etc/apache2/mods-available/proxy.load /etc/apache2/mods-enabled/proxy.load

    ln -s /etc/apache2/mods-available/proxy.conf /etc/apache2/mods-enabled/proxy.conf

    /etc/init.d/apache2 restart

The paths inside the links do not exist on my box. I checked and i have the full Apache 2 install, but I do not have those lines. I thought maybe it was working and tried to start Apache 2.

    I got this error:

Invalid command 'ProxyPass' , perhaps misspelled or defined by a module not included in the server config.

I get the feeling I need to tell Apache2 to use this feature, but I can not find any info on how. Can someone point me in the right direction?

    Thanks,
    Bruce

try 'a2enmod proxy' - this command enables apache module. And make sure you got apache2 proxy module installed - probably someting like apache2-mod-proxy.

Maybe it's mod_proxy (old name) what else is in mods_available?

    Kevin,
The mods-enable and and mods-available folders are missing from /etc/apache2. I wasn't sure if this was a SLES10 thing or what as I am using the built in Apache2. I can't find any info on them being some where else, nor am I missing any Apache2 RPM's from the base install.

I'm not sure about SLES10 but the OpenSuse boxes I have require mod_proxy and mod_proxy_http to be added to APACHE_MODULES in /etc/sysconfig/apache2
