Disable SSL checking for slave POP accounts

Hi,

I have a Zimbra server with an account that wants to pull from an SSL POP account. Currently the account is coming up with connection refused (it works in thunderbird). I believe the problem is that the SSL POP server cert is self-signed, which Java rejects by default. Is there anyway of turning of cert checking for the slave POP account?
