Unhappy authenticating via external LDAP

I have successfully configured the latest Zimbra to use our LDAP server for authentication using the Authentication wizard in the admin UI. Well at least I think I configured it successfully. I completed the wizard and the test login at the last step completed successfully. Now, how to I set this LDAP to be the default authentication for the Zimbra web UI? I have tried simply restarting the service, but still cannot login to the web interface using my LDAP account. I have a network sniffer on the zimbra server and it doesn't even attempt to query the LDAP server on a web login (it did query during the authentication wizard, so I know there's no firewall rule or anything like that). Must be missing a step somewhere. I followed the LDAP section on the Zimbra wiki step for step.

Have you added a user account for your login name? Zimbra still needs an account for your user, the LDAP is just used for password purposes.

Really? . Hmmmm, is there a way to import all our LDAP users into Zimbra? We already have an LDAP server and want Zimbra to get it's account information from that.

You need to provision users in Zimbra, if you don't do that their accounts (and various other bits) don't get created. Dump the relevant data from your LDAP and write a script to provision the in Zimbra, look at the wiki and search the forums - this has been covered a few times.
