Default Forwarding Filtered Messages

I'm hoping to be able to configure a mailbox which can forward messages or not based on meeting certain conditions. Mail from a certain address should be forwarded, all other mail should not.

It appears that mail-filters cannot be used for forwarding purposes at all.

When I create a new rule, the only possible actions are: Keep in inbox, discard, File into folder, Tag with, Mark.

Is this correct?

That depends which version of Zimbra you're on. I have 4.5.3 and there's a 'Forward to' option.

Default Version 4.5.1

Thanks for the info, Phoenix.

We've got v 4.5.1. Was the Forward_to option available in that?

(Sorry if this is a very uninformed question. I'm doing much of the low-level work, while someone else did most of the server setup/configuration.)

Is there a class of service setting which turns off that ability or something?

I think this was a feature in an early release of Zimbra. Have a look in the Admin UI and see if the COS option to 'allow user to forward' is set - I think that affects this filter option.

Default That Did It

Thanks, Phoenix.

Sure enough, if the user account's "Allow user to specify a forwarding address" is disabled, that prevents forwarding filters. Makes a lot of sense, really. I just wouldn't have thought to check such a thing.

Appreciated!
