Reindexing from the command line

Can mailboxes be reindexed from the command line or is this only available through the admin GUI?

Two similar questions simultaneously came in to me, and I stuck the wrong answer here. (zmmboxsearch is helpful for doing cross-mailbox-search, but doesn't help with reindexing)

There is *not* a tool for doing command-line reindexing right now. You can trigger the re-index via SOAP request fairly easily.

There is a perl script in the source tree (ZimbraServer/src/perl/soap/reindex.pl) that sends the appropriate request.

If you file a bug/rfe on it I'll remember to add support to zmprov for it, where it probably belongs since it is an admin-level soap command.

you can do it this way:

/opt/zimbra/bin/zmprov rim $u start

where '$u' is the username of the mailbox owner
