I am using Zimbra 4.5.3 and I want to disable webmail access to particular user/domain. Does anyone know how to do it. Thank you!

Not that I am aware of; however that sounds like a good request.
File it in the bugzilla

Default disable webclient access - bug 16099

I've submitted this good idea as a bug here:

http://bugzilla.zimbra.com/show_bug.cgi?id=16099

I find this a good point for security, because some users should
be restricted to IMAP/POP access, and Zimbra Webclient could be
an extra feature.

Or for some paranoic boss it could be a security related issue
to lock the users to a specific kind of access (users in the
office only IMAP, users on the roadonly webclient)

As addition a feature for disabling users to delete emails
(or onlydeny empty trash) could be fine for audit issues.

Does anyone have an update on the status of this enhancement? I have checked the bugzilla, and there hasn't been anything new since 4-23-08.

I would find it very handy to be able to only allow certain individuals the ability to login via webmail. I could see a simple filter field being added in the Zimbra Admin Console under a user to list the network(s) that they could access from - ie 0.0.0.0 for no access, 192.168.0.0/xx for the local subnet or xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx/yy for external/remote site access.

Thanks for any information on this enhancement!

Welcome to the forums

Please vote for that enhancement so that the Zimbra project managers can factor it in when looking at the next features to include.

Are there any third-party addons/plugins for this. I am planning to install Zimbra in a VPS. I would like to have something, that would restrict a group of users accessing the mail from our ip address. IMAP/POP/Webmail, that group of users cannot access mail outside our company.
Is there something that could be done?
P.S: I just voted for the above mentioned request in bugzilla.

Welcome to the forums

The only way I can think of doing it would be to block by IP address range using IPTables.

In that case, it will apply for all the users right? I would like to apply this restriction for just one/some group(s) of users.

Correct, but until the RFE has been implemented you have very little choice.
