Default Backup Best Practices? (ZCS 8.x Open Source)

    Hi all,

Can anyone point me to the latest guide for backing up ZCS? I've read over a few of the Wiki documents, but they seem a bit out of date. Can anyone point me to the latest best practices guide for ZCS, and any related backup scripts?

Currently running ZCS 8.0.7 on CentOS 6.5.

    Thanks!

They would be as useful on the current version of ZCS as they are on the versions in the wiki articles. Which specific wiki articles have you read? The only sure way to find out if it does what you need is to try the scripts and perform a disaster recovery as part of documenting your disaster recovery procedures for your installation.

    I've read these wiki articles:

Open Source Edition Backup Procedure - Zimbra :: Wiki
Listed as valid up to ZCS 5.0, last updated a year ago.

    And:
Backing up and restoring Zimbra (Open Source Version) - Zimbra :: Wiki
    Last updated four years ago.

Is there no official, recently updated documentation/process for backing up?

    Hi AWSguy,
Try with this external scripts, please be sure that you try first in lab environment:
If you have Ubuntu - https://github.com/garithd/zimbra-pe...i/Installation
This Script also works very well - https://github.com/scottharwell/zimb...ster/backup.sh
More independent Backup scripts - Zimbra by ZeeshanMunir
A good one too, but updated in January 2013 - https://github.com/bggo/Zmbkpose

So try everyone and decide wich fits with your needs

    Kind regards

Thanks for the scripts Jorge, I'll definitely check them out!

@Phoneix - I would still like to see or be directed to an official backup process however. My company is considering moving to ZCS as a primary email platform, but I'm hesitant to recommend it yet without an official vendor backup plan (third party resources are nice, but my company would need to see an official vendor process to ensure no "gotchas" are encountered). Does such a document exist?

    Thanks!
