Scheduled backups & disk usage

I'm running ZCS 4.5.1 network edition and am concerned that the built-in backup schedule will eventually cause me to run out of disk space. Does any part of Zimbra monitor free space and delete older backups if necessary?

If not, I wouldn't mind setting up a cron job to do so but it just seems like this is something that Zimbra should do by default. Otherwise, running Zimbra (without noticing and fixing the problem) could eventually cause the underlying system to run out of disk space since it runs automatic daily backups by default.

Has anyone else encountered this issue?

Part of scheduling backups allows you to delete backups older then X. The default schedule is backups older then 1 month if I recall correctly. Check out this article in the wiki

Thank you. I forgot to check the wiki before creating this thread. Reading the article brings up an additional question.

Does anyone know if zmschedulebackup can make a backup schedule that includes the -zip and -target options? The documentation has no mention of this.

zmschedulebackup doesn't support those options yet. You could cheat and run 'crontab -e' as zimbra and add them to the the zmbackup commandline.

Just remember zmschedulebackup will overwrite your options if you run it, and the output will be a little confused when you run 'zmschedulebackup -q'.
