Default stop outbound external mail

I've seached the forum for mention of this using "block external mail" "block outbound mail" "restrict outbound" and a few others but I've not found it. Should anyone know of a thread where this is already answered then please let me know and accept my apologies.

That said, here's the deal.

I've just been asked to make it so that certain email accounts in Zimbra cannot send email to external addresses. They should be able to send internal mail, so fred@domain.tld can send mail to john@domain.tld but not to test@theweb.com for example.

This needs to be done for a number of accounts, and as is normal for these things, it needs to be done as soon as possible.

Could someone point me in the right direction for solving this, ideally with an easy to follow example or script.

Much appreciated.

I did forget about that yes. Thanks for the link, I've looked at it and I'm a little confused, it seems to be showing how to restrict the entire domain from sending, or to permit it to send to only prefined domains.

I need to set it so that, of two email accounts in the same domain on the same server, only one should be allowed to send external email.

Perhaps I'm just not reading the instructions right, and I cant really start playing around with it incase something goes rather wrong, does anyone happen to use this feature, and if so could you post the section from your config files that illustrates this, as the wiki seems to only contain info on how to do it, without showing the end result of the configs.

Cheers.

I need the same functionality but it seems to be impossible to do from the admin web UI.

In order to make that, you need to configurer directly the underlying Postfix, and get a list of the users that are not allowed to send mail on external domains.

Well, can the Zimbra team tell us when this will be available ?
In version 5 (this summer) ?

Finally found it in bugzilla.
It's here, vote for it : http://bugzilla.zimbra.com/show_bug.cgi?id=5595

Franck, it's not marked for Franklin, there's no date yet.
Voting and bringing attention to it is needed.

I've also voted for it, and read the notes which seem the same as the wiki, I sort of see how the permitted domain is detailed but I dont see how to define which users should be restricted.

While we wait for the administrative bliss that is a GUI, I'd still appreciate help with manually configuring this.

I also have voted for this feature. Has anyone been able to use the wiki for a workaround. I would rather not have to create two separate domains. The current solution only provides domain wide from what I have read. Their has to be a work around this problem.
