Question Sending email locally

Is there a way to send email from local server via command line to the zimbra server? I want to email the zimbra local logs to myself so I can track spam rejections and warning messages and am unsure how to do this via command line. I would like just use mailx to send them but I am getting a "Mailing to remote domains not supported" when attempting it.

Thanks,
Steve

Can't you use the cli version of sendmail to achieve what you want?

This is probably more of a local server issue than a Zimbra issue. When I use the command line, it never connects to zimbra postfix. I see nothing in the Zimbra logs but I get the error reported back to my local email account.

Are you on the same network? Are you authenticating against the Zimbra server? I'm not really a cli user myself and I've never used sendmail in that mode.

I probably should have been more specific in what I'm trying to do. Sorry about that.

On the Zimbra server its self, I'm trying to locally scan /var/log/zimbra.log, create a separate file with relevant entries and then email that second log to my Zimbra account.

hi,

i use mutt for sending from command line, it goes like this:
mutt -s "subject" -a /tmp/attached_file.gz lars@we.be < /tmp/body.txt

of course with sendmail i can be done too:

$ /usr/sbin/sendmail lars@we.be

Hi,
I'm trying to perform the same : send email locally.
In order to do that, I use "mutt" but the following error appears :

#mutt -d 5 -s "subject" me@domain.tld < file.txt
Debugging at level 5.
Error sending message, child exited 127 (Exec error.).
Could not send the message.

Any clue please ?
