    Default Cron Daemon message in admin@mail.domain.com

    Our Zimbra server is registering a strange email every 20 minutes from Cron Daemon (root@mail.domain.com) with the following error message:

    /usr/share/sendmail/sendmail: 1248: /usr/sbin/sendmail-msp: not found

    I could not find any solution on the web.

    Any ideas please, what might cause this and how we can fix it?

    Take a look at some of these: +"/usr/sbin/sendmail-msp: not found" - Yahoo Search Results

    Hey Bill,

    Thanks, but these are posts that are addressing postfix, sendmail and etc. If I make any... changes to postfix overriding Zimbra I might brake the server...
    Have you seen anything like this in other Zimbra installations?

    Shouldn't do that, these are nothing to do with Zimbra.

    No, never seen it before. Has this just started? Have you recently done any update to your operating system? What does the cron job actually do? Which operating system are you using?
    Regards

    No, it's been running for around 250 days, but no one is looking at this account...

    The crontab -l on both zimbra and root accounts do not contain this.

    However, /etc/cron.d/sendmail has it in it's lines:

    # use default path, shell, home
    #SHELL=/bin/sh
    #PATH=
    #HOME=
    # send mail to this user, as `mail/smmsp` isn't real.
    MAILTO=root
    #
    # format of entries:
    # m h dom mon dow user command
    #
    #------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    # Every so often, give sendmail a chance to run the MSP queues.
    #
    */20 * * * * smmsp test -x /etc/init.d/sendmail && /usr/share/sendmail/sendmail cron-msp

    As I mentioned earlier, this is really nothing to do with Zimbra. You din't answer some of the questions I asked and I don't know which operating system you're using but from what I can see it's a Ubuntu 'problem'. I'd suggest you disable the cron job or comment out the lines.
    Regards
