Exclamation can't see imap inbox folder

Hi,
I've enabled imap and clear text login from the admin console and opened the imap ports from the firewall. However when i use outlook 2003 or outlook express 6 to view my folders, only emailed contacts and sent folder is viewed while the inbox which is the mostly important folder is empty. Can anyone please help me with this issue

Make sure that you have told Outlook/OE to download all folders.

On outlook express, for example, if you click on the server, then choose "IMAP Folders" and make sure all of your folders are selected.
