    Hi,

    I planed to upgrade zimbra from 8.0.4 to 8.0.6, when trying to run ./install.sh, I got following error:

    ZCS upgrade from 8.0.4 to 8.0.6 will be performed.
    ERROR: Unable to reach the Zimbra License Activation Server.
    License Activation is required when upgrading to ZCS 7 or later.

    The ZCS Network upgrade will automatically attempt to activate the
    current license as long as the activation server can be contacted.

    You can obtain a manual activation key and re-run the upgrade
    by specifying the -a activation.xml option.

    A manual license activation key can be obtained by either visiting
    the Zimbra support portal or contacting Zimbra support or sales.


    I tried to telnet to the license.zimbra.com

    telnet license.zimbra.com
    Trying 205.140.197.124...
    telnet: Unable to connect to remote host: Connection timed out


    Please help.

    As the error message tells you, you need to be able to contact the activation server or you can get a manual activation key (from the Support Portal).

    I'd also note it is very unlikely for port 23 to be open on virtually any host, so testing via "telnet" against the default port 23 is not a particularly valid test...

    I never ran into this problem before on any of my upgrades but did from 8.0.5 to 8.0.6. I found that I had been stopping the services before upgrading and this time I had to allow them to keep running. As simple as that. Let the installation process stop the services and it's fine in my case anyway.
