    Default CatchAll Account

    Hi All,

I want to implement a New Zimbra server as a secondary server inside my network so that it can catch all aacounts from my primary ISP mail server and distribute all inside my home network. Can I possible it without the use of fetchmail.

    Thanks & Regards

No, you can't. Fetchmail is required for the Zimbra install as it's used by zmtrainsa.

    Hi Bill,

    Thanks...
So i need to use fetchmail in the same zimbra server(secondary mail server) right..? is it work for entire domain ? (Domain Pop). If an option of domain pop present inside Zimbra is very much useful for these type of requirements.

Sorry, I don't understand your question or what you're trying to do.

Your first post said "Can I possible it without the use of fetchmail." I thought you were asking if you could install zimbra without fetchmail.

What is it you're trying to do?
    Regards

    Bill

    Hi Bill,

Sorry for a complicated question...I will tell what i want..
In my current setup we dont have a mail server. Our entire domain's mails are in our ISP mail server. What i want is I am going to set up a mail server in my network. And create all the accounts locally except a catch all account. So all mails destined to my domain is goes to ISP mail server and fall in to the catch all account say postmaster@mydomain.com. So i can fetch postmaster's mailbox into my local mail server (ie; zimbra) and distribute to all of our users. For fetching I can use fetchmail in a multi drop way. I asked you "is there any way of fetching all my domain's emails without the use of fetchmail ie, is Zimbra providing any CLI utility for this ?". So i can accomplish my task without using fetchmail..

I think you are getting me..right?

    Thanks & Regards

Right, I get you. The problem is that most multi-drop mailboxes at ISPs aren't necessarily multi-drop. If that's really what you have then the only way to get it and deliver it to local accounts is, AFAIK, with fetchmail.
    Regards
