Default retrieve aliases from remote server (maybe with ldap)

    Hello,

I'm planning a to install a zimbra server behind our public MX server.

I want to keep a list of existing adresses on the MX server in order to block some spams.

How can I retrieve the list of mail addresses stored on the zimbra server ?
I hoped I could do it via ldap but haven't found any doc about that.

Would you have an idea to help me on that ?

    Thanks in advance,

    Artturi

Try 'zmprov help commands' run as the zimbra user for details of how to list accounts.

Thanks but that does not fit very well with my need.

I have to build postfix's alias map from what zimbra contains, but on a remote server without access to "zmprov".

Knowing there's an openldap server running, I thought it would be efficient to access it directly. Is that possible ?

    Regards,

    Artturi

Yes, an ldapsearch will get the details in the Zimbra LDAP if that's what you're asking.

Thanks, I got my ldap connection to zimbra working.

However, I used the "uid=zimbra,cn=admins,cn=zimbra" account which has probably too many privileges.

Does there exist a "read-only" account that would be suited to my need ?
What If I create one and set up read-only acls in slapd.conf, will it be lost during future upgrades ?

    Thanks in advance,

    Artturi

You can do an anonymous bind on the server.
