All of a sudden I cannot send e-mail anymore from my mail client (Thunderbird) or my mobile phone device. I did not make any changes recently to Zimbra. It was running fine for about 2 months.
When I tried to send mail Thunderbird asked me to enter my password again so obviously something went wrong with the authentication for sending mail using SMTP.
I tried again and did a tail on the "mail.log" file where I saw the following error message.
The service is running I tried starting it with "zmsaslauthdctl start" but I got a message that it was already running.
zimbra postfix/smtps/smtpd: warning: SASL authentication failure: cannot connect to saslauthd server: Connection refused
What could have happened and how can I solve this issue? Any help is greatly appreciated.
