    Exclamation Add a front-end

    Hi,

I'm new in Zimbra world and i read that it's possible to have a frontend serveur for external connection in particular Webmail.

Is it simple to add a front-end to a mono serveur installation ?
how can i do it, if you have doc or over tips thanks.

I guess it's not just install a new serveur only with mta and webmail roles...

I don't really understand what you're asking here or what you're trying to do. ZCS is a complete collaboration server, you install it on a single machine (for a single server install) and you connect to it with either a mail client (Zimbra Desktop, Thunderbird etc.) or use the Webu UI to read you email. You can put a Zimbra server directly on the internet or behind a NAT router (and forward the correct ports) and receive email and view your email.

Have you read the Product Documentation or searched the forums and wiki for details of ZCS and it's features and capabilities?
    Regards

    hi Bill,

yes i searched on the wiki, and i saw that you can make a frontend/backend installation.

to be more precise, actualy my Zimbra webmail is configure to be accessible only via our Intranet website witch realise the authentification.
so if i try to browse direcly http://server/zimbra, i'm redirect to our intranet for authentification.

What i want to do is add a new serveur zimbra-proxy, and with this one i can have access to the webmail directly without passing by our intranet. This to stop publish the intranet on internet.

i don't know if its clear.

Actualy i have a webmail configure to redirect to our Intranet witch authentificate users and then open the webmail if then ask for it.

I want to stop publish my intranet on the net, so i want to add a new zimbra-proxy to provide webmail access on internet direcly on it.
in fact i want to create a FrontEnd/BackEnd configuration. But i don't know if its complicate or if there was au tuto to install a Zimbra-proxy to an existing installation.

You can use http://files.zimbra.com/website/docs...tall_8.0.2.pdf guide which cover proxy installation and refer the proxy document for more details
