Unhappy zmconfigd stopped - RedHat Enterprise Linux Server release 6.1 + Zimbra 8.0.0

    Dear All,

Please i need your support, after the #zmcontrol restart i got all zimbra services are working fine except the zmconfigd is stopped.

    antispam Running
    antivirus Running
    ldap Running
    logger Running
    mailbox Running
    mta Running
    snmp Running
    spell Running
    stats Running
    zmconfigd Stopped
    zmconfigd is not running.

And when i checked the /opt/zimbra/log/zmconfigd.log i found this error and it's repeated:

Starting zmconfigd...Traceback (most recent call last):
    File "/opt/zimbra/libexec/zmconfigd", line 30, in <module>
    import state
IOError: [Errno 2] File not found - /opt/zimbra/zimbramon/pylibs/state$py.class (Permission denied)
    failed.

    Please advice and help

Why don't you search the forums for the error message, you'll find several possible solutions if you try that first.

If you are really running 8.0.0, I would strongly advise you to upgrade ASAP before your entire system corrupts.

    1. Yes, of course you can upgrade without losing stuff. It wouldn't be called an upgrade otherwise.

    2. Go to Zimbra offers Open Source email server software and shared calendar for Linux and the Mac.
Download the latest release for your platform (8.0.4_GA)
    Extract it
Run the installer as root. It will automatically go into upgrade mode.

You should upgrade to the latest release immediately, regardless of free or commercial version. You can download either version from the Zimbra website. I.e., if you want to go commercial, do that later. Get upgraded to 8.0.4 now. If you later wish to purchase the commercial version, then yes, you data will be upgraded as a part of that process.
