Default 4.5 NE... can it read full backups from 4.0.x?

Hi,

before we update to 4.5 NE, I need to know if it can read full backups taken with 4.0.x. I see in the release notes that the backup formats are not compatible (and I know from experience to take such remarks very seriously! :-).

We have several deleted accounts that we archived with full backups before deletion. Can we restore the accounts if needed after we update to 4.5?

Thanks,
Scott

You'd have to restore them with the same version of ZImbra that you used to back them up.

I noticed that after upgrading from 4.0.5 to 4.5.0 all my 4.0.5 backups were gone.

That's why they tell you the formats are not compatible in the Release Notes.
