Default tomcat wont start after cert work

I admit it. I got brave (stupid) after successfully updating certificates on a test machine. I did not perfor a backup before doing the same thing on a live server.

That said, is there a way to pull just the user data (they have several months worth of data) into a fresh install ?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome to the forums.

You could use imapsync to import mail, search the fourms and wiki for details. What was the problem you encountered with the certificates? Is it self-signed or commercial, does the wiki troubleshooting page not help?

The certificate was expired. Self signed (seemed pretty easy on the other machine).

The wiki page is what I was using to recreate the certificates.

Oddly enough, there seems to be nothing about restoring backed up certificates.

Then recreating a self-signed certificate shouldn't have done anything to your system. You haven't exactly said what is wrong?

sorry about the delay... I thought I would try again.

I get as far as installing the server certificate files for ldap, but then get the error: ERROR: service.FAILURE (system failure: getDirectContext) (cause: javax.naming.CommunicationException shmail.tmeaction.com:389)

LDAP problems are usually caused by DNS, what's in your /etc/hosts file and are there DNS A & MX records pointing to your server?

This is an internal DNS & test zimbra set-up I guess? What does a 'dig tmeaction.com' & 'dig tmeaction.com mx' return?
