Default how to automatically add imported events to attendees' calendars

I'm able to import calendar meetings with attendees (both from the Preferences part of the GUI and using curl). But the events don't show up on the attendees calendar until I hit Send in each event detail page and they acknowledge it. Is there some way to automate that (sending invite emails)? The above talks about "send emails ... with a script". How can we do that?

Even better, is there some way to import group events (those with attendees) that automatically puts the events on the attendees' calendars without any user action? We want this to migrate calendar data from our existing system (webcalendar).

For a particular attendee, are you not exporting his/her calendar from the old system and importing into Zimbra?

I plan to export calendar events from webcalendar and import into Zimbra.

But my experiment was with an ICS file created by hand. I created an event in Zimbra and invited another person, who accepted. I then exported that event from Zimbra and edited it (the .ics text file) with new UID, DTSTART, and DTEND values. Then I imported that modified ICS file into Zimbra. Zimbra created the imported event on my calendar but did not put it on the calendar of the other attendee and did not inform the other attendee with email. I want to know how to import such events, with attendees, so that the events show up on all the attendees calendars, or at least notify the other attendees that they should accept or reject the event.

I am attaching the .ics file I used in my test. (It's zipped because this forum doesn't allow uploads of .ics files).

You need to carry out the same steps on the attendee account as well.

Importing an ICS file would not result in sending out invite messages.

It looks like it does work to import the ICS file individually for both the meeting originator and the attendee. The comprised meeting shows up on both Zimbra calendars and that shared meeting does seem to be linked as far as further changes.

Default Imported events with DURATION properties not working properly

It seems that when importing events Zimbra wants DTEND properties rather than DURATION properties for each VEVENT component. When I import using DURATION properties the events display as the correct amount of time on the calendar views but when viewing or editing event detail the end times in Zimbra are often set to be the same as the start times as if the duration was zero. This is causing me huge problems as our imported event data from our old system is not behaving properly in Zimbra.

Thanks for referring to that bug report. I see that it was reported back in 2007 and is still not fixed.
