Default Admin "view mail" function not working

Hi,

I just got zimbra up and running(latest and greatest version). It's pretty sweet. I have only two problems.
When I login via the admin console and select a user then click on "view mail"

It brings me to a page http://mydomain.com/zimbra/auth
But that page doesn't exist on my server so I never get to see the users mail.

Also,

It seems that the preview pane is not working. No matter how I set the pane options I always have to open the email to read it.

Anyone help??

Thanks

Default pane

ohhh, I figured out the pane thing. it doesn't work when you view by "conversation".

Oh yes it does, if you mean the users mailbox is in 'view by conversation'. It would be rather silly to not work under those circumstances.

well, then i guess mine does not work. because as soon as I change "view by" to conversation the preview pane goes away.

OK, it looks like we're talking about two different things here. I thought you were implying that you couldn't view the users mail because it was in 'conversation' view. You're right, you need the other view to see the pane at the bottom.

So, if you're in the admin console and you open a users account then click on 'view mail' it doesn't open. Is that what you're saying? Which browser is this? Which mode is Zimbra in http/https/mixed? Are ther any extensions or pop-up blockers in your browser that may stop that window from opening? That's what I was referring to when I said it worked.

I'm using it mixed. Users access http and the admin is https. I have tried both safari and firefox. There isn't anything getting blocked. When I try and view mail for an account I just get redirected to: https://myservername/zimbra/auth/
but it seems as if this page doesn't exist.

Default Install

I think it has something todo with your installation.

It's one of those aboslute links issues.
What hostname did you use during installation?

You mention: mydomain.com and myservername ...

That isn't what mixed mode is. What's in your /etc/hosts file? Do you have DNS A & MX records for the Zimbra server? What does
Code:
host `hostname`
return?
