Zimbra and PAM LDAP?

I started working on a zimbra install for a small (5 users, but huge mailboxes) server last friday. It's up and running, and postfix accepts email but the MTA in Zimbra does not yet seem to deliver or receive email messages.

Working thru that.

On a seperate note, I am wondering if it is possible to use the LDAP server that comes with Zimbra to act as a LDAP server for Linux authentication via PAM LDAP. Has anyone tried to do use Zimbra for that yet?

Did you check the logs? /var/log/zimbra.log and /opt/zimbra/logs/zimbra.log

Assuming your PAM LDAP can specify a generic LDAP filter it should work.

That should definitely work, since we are using Open LDAP. If you have any trouble getting the PAM module to work let us know which one you are using and we'll help out with the config.

hi, I've read about pam authentication against the zimbra ldap users database, but I wonder if it's posible to plug pam with zimbra to use an external mysql users and passwds database, any hints how can I do this
