Question Zimbra OSE + Active Directory, automatic account creation?

I'm looking to implement Zimbra OSE and have it authenticate against an Active Directory domain. Previously we were using Exchange, and when creating a domain user we would have the option for auto-creation and population of an exchange mailbox for the user. Does anyone know of a similar configuration with Zimbra OSE?

To rephrase that, I would like Zimbra OSE to be integrated such that when I create a domain user, I have the option for the domain controller to issue account creation, configuration and attachment of a new mailbox to the new domain user.

Why don't you use the auto-provision feature in Zimbra? You also need to post details of your ZCS version when posing questions, post the output of the following command:

    Code:
    zmvontrol -v

    Hi Phoenix,

I haven't yet implemented it, so I believe that I'll be using 8.0.4. Sorry about not posting the version, my bad.

I'm not familiar with the auto-provision feature, I imagine the feature is documented? And since you are alluding to it, I suspect you think it will address my goal, is this correct?

I have a feeling the auto provisioning feature might be NE only, I'm not able to check that at the moment. If it is NE only there's a script in the forums that will provision users from AD, you'd need to run that via a cron job.

I'm pretty sure it's available in OSE. Now to figure out how to do it against a domain that can fail-over.

So for those who may read this in the future, AD provisioning primarily relies on LDAP for auth, and one of the guides I will be following closely (not sure about verbatim) is : Zimbra 8 Auto Provisioning - IT Enterprise Solution Sharing | IT Enterprise Solution Sharing
