Default 3 different time values - how to set everything to one timezone

Hi guys,

I have a strange problem with "time".

- my server is running on AEST (GMT+10 and daylight saving)
- date at shell prompt -> correct time
- email header has sent time CET (GMT+1 and daylight saving)
- status page at admin web interface has GMT+21
- the log time stamps in /opt/zimbra/log/* are CET as well
- the log time stamps in /var/log/* are AEST

System: Ubuntu 6.06TLS, Zimbra 4.5 RC2

please help - I don't trust any watch any more.....

Cheers
Andre

Upgrade to 4.5 GA as that's now available and check the timezone information again. If you need to change it then change in in the COS with this command:

this command will display the current value:
Code:
zmprov gc default | grep zimbraPrefTimeZoneId
this will change it:
Code:
zmprov mc default zimbraPrefTimeZoneId '(GMT+01.00) Brussels / Copenhagen / Madrid / Paris'
Obviously the timezone should be the one you require.

Update to 4.5 GA -> done
Time issue -> still the same
"zmprov gc default | grep zimbraPrefTimeZoneId" -> "zimbraPrefTimeZoneId: (GMT-08.00) Pacific Time (US & Canada) / Tijuana"

what is the exact string for AEST (Australia, Melbourne, Daylight Saving) ?

Cheers
Andre

IIRC, the string for the location is irrelevant it's the difference for GMT that matters. This should do you (if the GMT +10 is correct ):
Code:
zmprov ma username zimbraPrefTimeZoneId "(GMT+10.00) Canberra / Melbourne / Sydney"

Thanks for this,

but it still doesn't work

snapshot at 19. Jan. 2007 14:20:00 (AEST)
time stamp at /opt/zimbra/log/mailbox.log: 19.JAN.2007 04:20:00
time at the zimbra admin interface: top left corner (next to the refresh button) 19. JAN. 2007, 14:20:00 and the "server status last checked:" is 20.JAN.2007 12:20:00 AM

any ideas left?

Cheeres

erm, stupid me. I gave you the command to modify a users timezone, it should be the COS. Try the following command:
Code:
zmprov mc default zimbraPrefTimeZoneId "(GMT+10.00) Canberra / Melbourne / Sydney"
where 'default' is the default COS, if you have multiple COS on your server then change them all.
