    Default Problem in receiving mail

    Hi,

I use Zimbra 8.0.2 installed on CentOS 6.3. In recent times i have started getting error message "receiving reported error 0x800ccc0f the connection to the server was interrupted" in user machines while trying to send and receive emails. In the same user machine there are couple of other mail accounts configured and those accounts receive mails without any issues.

The mail account which shows error message starts to receive mails after 15 or 20 minutes without any issues. Can anyone please let me know what might be the issue?

    Regards,
    Bala

Read some of the internet pages on this problem. I should also point out that you would be best to upgrade your server to the current ZCS 8.0.4 release as soon as possible, the version you're running has problems that may cause you to lose mail.
    Regards

Hi Bill, Thanks for your reply on my query. I tried those options regarding the error message and nothing worked, but automatically it starts working fine after some time.

Can you be more specific on "the version you're running has problems that may cause you to lose mail".

It is just 3 weeks since i migrated from Squirrel mail to Zimbra. My vendor also recommended to go with my current version of zimbra and not to upgrade to 8.0.4 for now.

    Thanks
    Bala

You should always keep an eye on the Announcements forum and the Product Portal for details about upcoming versions of Zimbra and the current state of outstanding bugs and RFEs - specifically this bug in relation to my previous comment.

That's just a case of ZCS Release timing.

Then I'm afraid your vendor is mistaken and I'd suggest it's your responsibility to keep an eye on the status of Zimbra and any possible bugs or problems in the specific release you're using. You should upgrade as soon as possible, it's a fairly trivial process and you do need to take a backup before the upgrade.
    Regards

    Hi Bill,

I went through the product management portal and release notes of zcs 8.0.4, but i could not find anything specific to my issue. Can you please let me know how you confirmed it is a problem with my current version of zcs.

If i upgrade it to the current version will this problem be solved. Just wanted to make sure this issue does not come up again after upgrading.

    Thanks
    Bala

    Hi Bill,

I went through the below link and after changing the pop3_throttle value i did not get the issue again.
    How to disable POP3 throttling

    Thanks
