    Default Large attachment issue

    Hi,

We are using the following Zimbra version

    Release 8.0.2_GA_5569.RHEL6_64_20121210115059 CentOS6_64 FOSS edition.

While trying to upload emails of 20MB+ from users local folders to Zimbra folder, the following error is appearing in the logs

    Code:

I tried to search for the above, but couldn't find anything. Can anyone please help in understanding what the above error means, why it is being caused, and way to fix it ?

    Good day,

I encounter the very same error with Zimbra Open Source 8.0.5 + Thunderbird.

I tried with Evolution client. Evolution returned an error message indicating that the message size exceeds zimbraFileUploadMaxSize set in configuration.
After setting this value like this:

    zmprov modifyConfig zimbraFileUploadMaxSize 30000000

Evolution was able to store large IMAP messages, while Thunderbird still produces the above problem.

Update: restarting Zimbra seem to work around the problem, for how long - time will tell.

Read this and upgrade your server ASAP.

You need a size at least 30% greater than your largest file, when you upload files they get converted and that increases their size (details of this are in the forums).

Thanks for the crit.vuln. link, will update asap.

While I keeping in mind that BASE64 encoded emails are about 30% larger, it does not explain why Zimbra throws an exception at Thunderbird, which is - at least, temporarily - remedied by a simple restart.

That's true and you should file a bug report for the problem (if it still occurs after your upgrade).if one doesn't already exist.
