Default jetty.xml changes are reverted after the service restarted

I'm trying to setup additional web application with ZCS NETWORK edition 7.2.2.
I need to do appropriate changes in settings file jetty/etc/jetty.xml
But after each zmmailboxdctl restart command executed its content is restored to previous state.

    Why does that happen?

It's meant to be that way by design.

If you want changes to be kept on restart, you have to make your changes in jetty.xml.in (template file used to create jetty.xml).
