Default Any recent Zimbra to Google Apps migrations?

Interested in email migration and hoping someone has done it recently. Google's migration tool seems to be designed to work with exchange or imap. Exchange, I'm not sure how to configure it - it seems to want to tie into AD (which we don't use). And Imap requries all of the zimbra users' passwords, which is dumb.

So how has anyone done this in bulk?

    TIA.

zimbra supports admin auth for imap, which allows you to accesss a user's account via imap by supplying the admin credentials. i've used it with imapsync before, does the tool support this?

Unfortunately the google tool does not - I think it could however, as they do have it as an option for Cyrus. Tried one account and took over 24 hours. So next step for me is to try imapsync.

So anyone moved out via imapsync? I understand that many higher ed customers moved their students out - hence the reach out in case someone is still around (as they might have kept faculty and staff on zimbra). Looking for a good impasync recipe.

    TIA.

TIA, we've moved a number of customers from Zimbra to Google Apps using MigrationWiz. Take a look at that tool and see what you think.

We also have standard migration procedures to ensure that data the tool doesn't migrate is migrated manually if you're interested?

Unfortunately for us it is cost prohibited. Thank you for the suggestion.

I've migrated a few of our students to Google Apps using Google's Migration tool. However, we use AD. I temporarily set the "External LDAP account for Authentication" to an Active Directory account and use that account to log into the account for imapsync. When the sync is complete, I remove the attribute. You could use any external LDAP account though, not just AD.

    Hii mclemen2

WE dont use AD. We use OID external auth for zimbra & in that case can you please tell me what is the admin/auth account during this imap migration?

We didn't have our students on Zimbra, but did move our students from a different system to Google Apps and offered migration. We didn't migrate all users but setup a web app where students could request migration themselves.

The way we did this though is we required students to re-enter their passwords. This added their password (in clear text - but only temporarily) to a text file. This allowed us to use imapsync for them with their actual password on our local system and move their mail to Google that way.
