    Default Mass deletion of appointments

    Hello everyone,

running ZCS 8.0.2, how can I mass delete appointments quickly? I have extracted a list of appointments to delete using

    Code:
    # zmmailbox -z -m USER-ID-HERE search -l 1000 -t appointment in:Calendar > ids2delete

    # cat ids2delete
             Id Type From Subject Date
          ----- ---- -------------------- -------------------------------------------------- --------------
       1. 10104 appo <na> some-text 03/01/13 12:30
       2. 10060 appo <na> some-other-text 03/04/13 15:00
       3. 10094 appo <na> blabla 03/01/13 10:00
Then, with some awk magic I made my list which looks like this

    Code:
    # cat ids2delete
    deleteItem 10104
    deleteItem 10060
    deleteItem 10094
    [...another 600 lines...]
    So finally I wanted to

    Code:
    zmmailbox -z -m USER-ID-HERE -f ids2delete
This results in tons of these:

    Code:
    mbox USER-ID-HERE> ERROR: service.FAILURE (system
failure: error while proxying request to target server: HTTP/1.1 503 Service
    Unavailable) (cause: com.zimbra.common.service.ServiceException error while
proxying request to target server: HTTP/1.1 503 Service Unavailable)
    mbox USER-ID-HERE> ERROR: service.FAILURE (system
failure: error while proxying request to target server: HTTP/1.1 503 Service
    Unavailable) (cause: com.zimbra.common.service.ServiceException error while
proxying request to target server: HTTP/1.1 503 Service Unavailable)
    mbox USER-ID-HERE> ERROR: service.FAILURE (system
failure: error while proxying request to target server: HTTP/1.1 503 Service
    Unavailable) (cause: com.zimbra.common.service.ServiceException error while
proxying request to target server: HTTP/1.1 503 Service Unavailable)
    What's wrong here?
Running a for loop against zmmailbox like

    Code:
    while read ID; do
    zmmailbox -z -m USER-ID-HERE deleteItem $ID
    done < ids2delete
works fine. But this is going to take years to complete... (yes, in this case the file ids2delete only contains the IDs, without preceding "deleteItem ").

Please advice what can be done better.

    Thanks,
    Andre

    Default

    Hi vmahajan,

Thanks for this link, which seems to be half of the truth...

I applied the changes, and set the limit to 100/sec, but things do still not work as expected. Running

    Code:
    $ cat entries2delete
    deleteItem 8563
    deleteItem 8550
    deleteItem 8557
    [...]
    $ zmmailbox -z -m $USERID -f entries2delete

    now leads to tons of

    Code:
    > mbox $USERID> mbox $USERID> mbox $USERID> mbox $USERID> mbox $USERID>
    mbox $USERID
Maybe that's one "> mbox $USERID" per input line.

What does zmmailbox want to tell me with this? The entries are not deleted as expected.

Thanks very much for your help!
