We have a couple of users that are starting to reach 10GB.
What is reasonable to expect Zimbra to handle on Ubuntu 10.04 LTS with Zimbra FOSS edition (7.2.1).
Thanks in advance.

I'm at a school system with about 800 users and I like to keep the mailbox size below 1G.
Mailbox quota is unlimited you can increase their quota. I think you are talking about performance then only thing that you need to be concentrated on storage I/O.
More I/O more faster processing it will handle.
Thanks,
Anudeep.

I have several users that have tipped the scales at 10+ GB as well. The server seems to have no problem with this, but I am a little concerned about the mail clients. Most of these users are on Outlook and, in my experience, it has not always handled large files particularly well. Granted, those were PST files, but I am still leery.

Chris
Thanks for your response. That was kind of what I was wondering.
The two largest mailboxes are, of course, the the two most senior managers who have little to no time to go through their old email and clean out stuff that they don't need.
They are both using Outlook 2010 and have started to complain about speed of the processing messages. For example, moving between folder, or filing messages in folders seems to take a little longer than expected.
To the other comments in this thread, I don't have any mail quotas at this customer site. It would be great to have 1GB mail quotas, but it is not realistic in this environment.

I have a user at 21 gigs on outlook and she never complains about performance. I think the next largest has 14 gigs, but I think he uses the web interface. If it was slow, he would complain.
