Default Global Address List

HI All,

I have configured Zimbra-4.04 on CentOS-4.4. I am using external LDAP (SAMBA PDC) for authentication. For getting email address as same as my current addresses, i set aliases for each account ( ie, sambauser@domain.com has an alias as sambauser.sirname@domain.com). Things are going well, but regarding my GAL, i am using internal authentication. Now the problem is that when i searching from Global Address List, it showing both "email address and aliases", but i want only aliases. Is there any option to filter internal GAL for alias only..

Thanx

I don't believe that's possible at the moment. There are a couple of entries in bugzilla that relate to gal/alias display, have a look and vote for anything that fits your description or file an RFE.

Default External GAL

Hi all,

I am using External LDAP(SAMBA) for authentication. Everything is working fine in my setup except GAL. I have configured GAL with internal mode. Then the problem is there is no search filter for my "email aliases". When i configured for external mode, by using the same database of my SAMBA, it shows the test successful. But all the results are blank. How can i use the existing SAMBA LDAP database for GAL also. can anyone pls tell..

thanks

This post should have been a new thread as it's not the same topic as the original. I don't know much about Samba but you'll need to change the filter you're using, some details are in the wiki here.

You'll also find some posts in the forums about authentication.
