Default Trouble Sending mail - All Messages deferred!

When I try to send mail to hotmail.com I get a connection timed out.
When i try to send mail to sbcglobal.net I get a connection timed out.
When i try to send mail to juno.com I get a connection refused.
When i try to send mail to yahoo.com I get a connection timed out.
The messages to these domains just sit in the deferred queue.

This server has been up and running for about 3 weeks. It is the open source install. I can recieve e-mail all day long. I have sent test mail from each of these domains and I get them just fine. When I try to reply or create new messages, they just sit in deferred.

I can telnet to the juno.com, hotmail.com, and sbcglobal.net e-mail servers port 25 from the zimbra server. But when I check the errors in the deferred status, they say either connection timed out or refused.

I'm confused. Is there a way to get a little more info out of the server? I really need to get the mail flowing. Anyone have any idea why the server is not delivering to these domains??

System:
CentOS 4.3
Pentium 4 3.2Ghz
512MB RAM
2 SATA HDD RAID 1
Thanks!!!
Let me know what I need to post and I'll put it up asap!

Here is the tail -n 40 of the zimbra log when I tried to resend the mail to juno.com.

I did some searching and found that my zimbra server is trying to send the mail to everyone's A record.
zmprov gcf zimbraMtaDnsLookupsEnabled = TRUE
zmprov gs zimbraMtaDnsLookupsEnabled = FALSE
Do both of these need to be TRUE?

Do I need to enable DNS lookups someplace else?
I rebooted the server thinking that it might need it after the change.

I am still not sending mail out. Am I missing something?

Thanks!!

zmprov gcf zimbraMtaDnsLookupsEnabled = TRUE
zmprov gs zimbraMtaDnsLookupsEnabled = TRUE

I am sending mail!!

I didnt realize that DNS was so critical. I also didn't realize that I had to enable DNS lookups in 2 locations: Global and Servers.

This forum ROCKS...

We have set the both variables to TRUE and messages to yahoo still deferred.

Do we need to restart zimbra server or something like that?

Thanks.
