    Default Reverse DNS FAILED!

I am confused why I am seeing this all of a sudden as the mail server has been in use for years: host.west.cox.net[68.6.19.3] refused to talk to me:554 fed1rmimpi211 cox
Then when I went to mxtoolbox I see reverse DNS failed. I am unsure why. Where to look?

The Reverse DNS is created by your ISP, in a command prompt enter the following:

    Code:
host <your public IP> <<-- obviously enter your real public IP in there.
The response should be something like this:

    Code:
<your public ip>.in-addr.arpa domain name pointer <the FQDN of your server>
If it doesn't match then you either have no reverse DNS or it's incorrect. Mail servers (some of them) check for a reverse DNS, if it doesn't exist or match your server (it should) then you get rejections.
    Regards

Default interesting, not sure where to change it though

    I entered my old IP
    host ##.167.47.254
Host 254.47.167.##.in-addr.arpa domain name pointer zmail.mydomain.com
This is what it should be I am thinking. I checked my host and mx records at register.com I do not see any lines with the 254 ip, might I have entered this somewhere on my zimbra server?

It is a "Reverse DNS" entry, your IP address is in the reverse order and you'll see it in the message you've received in response to the host command.
